Chosen by Westside Beer to design a logo that would ultimately be a marriage of the Stella Artois glass and the ArtPrize logo, Goddard knew he would use his love of the outdoors and sustainability for the project.
His technique involves using pieces of land — in this case, Grand River bank slip mixed with a bio-base resin — to create pieces of sustainable art. Revue Magazine

> More about the making of the Guvvy and it's unveiling on November 27, 2007.

"The design of The Guvvy Award embodies the spirit of support between individuals and organizations that make the arts a priority within Michigan's cultural community. The linear support represents the tireless dedication we must have for the arts and the value they add to our lives. The curve reminds us of the spiraling energy of creativity, always flowing and moving. Together leading us to the blue sphere, which signifies the vision we share in sustaining outstanding creative achievements within Michigan for arts and culture."
